We will have two divisions of reverse co-ed 6s: Open/AA and BB/B. As this is a reverse co-ed tournament teams will consist of 3 men and 3 women on the court with a male touch rule. In addition to vball, we plan on having a bake sale (with chocolate chip cookies and other goodies) and other fundraising activities. There will be a maximum of 15 teams (as we have room for 3 nets only). The fee is $180 per team.
If you're looking to put a team in, let us know and we'll get you on the wait list by emailing us at
Rooftime 24 Recap
Rooftime 24 crew, participants, and spectators –
Greetings everyone - Rooftime 24 is in the books!
We had such a good turnout for the weekend, and despite being a little on the warm side, we can’t thank everyone enough for coming out to support Rooftime. All weekend I heard nothing but positive comments from players and spectators alike. Rooftime continues to be an amazing combination of a really fun weekend for a great cause. We had ~ 100 competitors each day, and we’re not sure if we spoke to all of you, but we sincerely welcome your support. Tallying both days (3 including our indoor tournament this year), and all raffle/T-shirt/cookie sales, we tallied over $9,000 this year! We can’t wait until Rooftime 25, and hope you can join us again!
Congratulations to all our winners, and all our raffle winners!
We’d also like to thank our amazing rooftime crew. In no particular order, we need to thank:
Frank Sanfillipo – Frank generously provides all the nets, the coolers, the equipment, secures the field for us and donates all his time on both days. This tournament truly would not happen without Frank.
Steve Anania and KJ Cecere - Steve (AKA “Mr. Rooftime” and KJ support Rooftime in so many ways, we can’t count them all. You all know Steve ran rooftime for the first 21 years, and continues to attend, play both days, and help with every facet of the tournament.
The front desk: Caitlin Patry and KJ Cecere. (And thank you to Caitlin for stepping in to play on Sunday!)
The net crew: Frank Sanfillipo, Michelle Jacobson, Jeremy Kempisty, Steve Anania, KJ Cecere, Dennis Denizard, Mark Lehrer, Dominic “Smash” Cirigliano, Michelle Girardi, Bill Hackett, Tim Milholm, Kevin Boyd, Christine LaGuardia, Frank Le, Bria Le, Nihad Hadzic … and whoever else I missed! Thank you!
The cookie/goodies baking crew - Cheryl Hadzic, Jeremy Kempisty, Christy Rodriguez, Christine Laguardia, Michelle Girardi, Steve Anania
Hudson River Housing - This year we had Hilary, Elizabeth Celaya and new executive director Sean Robin all come out to support Rooftime! It was great to see all of them again and to meet Sean.
All of our sponsors for raffle prizes, etc. - the Mid Hudson Athletic Center, The Dutchess Bier Café, Beacon Falls Café, Beekman Golf Club, and Ron’s Ice Cream. (And the people behind the sponsors: John Mack and Dean Lombardo, Jessica & Nick Forlano, Christine Laguardia, Lily Ropes, Johanna Germano, Mary Noon and Ron )
Jim Huenniger and Lauren Wilson - OK, so this year was an anomaly, and J&L were only able to make it to the end of Rooftime since they were busy welcoming their beautiful daughter, Chalupa Batman. But they are a huge part of the Rooftime family, so they get a big CONGRATULATIONS from us all!!! I hope everyone was able to meet Rae on Sunday evening…she was quite the good luck charm!
Last minute entries - Caitlin Patry and Misha Tsirulik. Both stepped up on zero minutes of notice to fill in for folks who couldn't attend... they were really good sports about it and their teams did quite well!
And thank you to everyone who helped out, came to watch, played, or in general supported the Rooftime effort. We hope to see you at Under the Roof V in February at the MAC,and Rooftime 25 next July.
